CCTV monitoring connects your existing cameras to a remote centre, where trained operators watch live and alarm-triggered feeds around the clock and coordinate rapid responses during an incident. Premier Support Services manages remote CCTV monitoring for sites across Birmingham and the West Midlands, with no new camera installation required.
As a stand-alone service or part of a wider security contract, Premier Support Services provides CCTV monitoring through our network of NSI Gold accredited monitoring partners. The service adds a live, monitored response: trained operators watch for triggered alerts and act once an incident is verified. The Birmingham team, based on Bromley Street, manages the contract and coordinates escalation for sites across Birmingham and the West Midlands.
Existing onsite cameras are watched live from the monitoring centre, either on continuous feed or through alarm and detector-activated triggers. Watching live and triggered feeds lets an operator assess a scene as it happens and respond appropriately, rather than reviewing recorded footage after the event.
Once an alert is verified as a genuine incident rather than a false trigger, an operator can issue an audio warning via intercom, alert a keyholder, dispatch a response, or contact the police, depending on actions agreed in the monitoring contract.
Every monitored incident is logged on the Premier Support Services Client Hub, with footage and a written report.
An unmonitored camera helps review an incident after the fact. A monitored system allows an operator to take agreed actions while an incident is in progress: raising an audio warning as a deterrent, alerting a keyholder or contacting the police before the situation develops further. Alerts are verified prior to action to reduce false callouts, compared with an automated dispatch.
Remote CCTV monitoring can work out less costly than permanent guarding or mobile patrols, since a single control room operator can watch a wider area than an officer can cover in person, including multiple sites.
CCTV monitoring for Birmingham sites is delivered through Premier Support Services’ network of NSI Gold accredited monitoring partners, rather than an in-house control room. NSI Gold is the National Security Inspectorate’s top-tier accreditation for monitoring and alarm receiving centres.

Procurement Manager, Arden UniversityContinuous control room cover keeps your site safe without new camera installation or capital cost: existing cameras are monitored as they are, rather than replaced. On-site responses are managed by the local Birmingham team, with the same vetting and training standards as our guarding and dog handling services. Responses are deployed when alerts are verified to reduce false callouts, with records of every monitored event and the action taken available on the client portal.
Monitoring can be layered with guarding, mobile patrols or dog handling for a combined approach to site security.
The cost of remote CCTV monitoring depends on the number of cameras and sites connected, the hours of cover required, and the level of response agreed for a verified alert, so an assessment of the existing camera system informs the quote.
Monitoring is generally weighed against the cost of a permanent on-site guard. Because a control room operator can watch multiple cameras and sites at once, monitoring often works out less costly than stationing an officer on site full-time for the same hours of cover.
Most existing CCTV, DVR and NVR systems can connect to the control room without new cameras being installed.
Where a system needs an upgrade to support remote connectivity, for example an internet-connected recorder or a compatible video feed, this is identified at the assessment stage.
Premier Support Services can arrange compatible camera-system upgrades where necessary, advising on the most appropriate for your use.

The Birmingham team will be in touch to arrange a site survey meeting, on site or over video call, to assess the existing camera system.

Yes, connected sites can be covered around the clock through the monitoring partner’s control room, if continuous CCTV monitoring is agreed in the contract scope.
An operator verifies the alert, then acts according to the site’s monitoring agreement: an audio warning, alerting a keyholder, dispatching a response, or contacting the police.
A control room operator can watch multiple cameras and sites at once, which often makes monitoring less costly than a permanent on-site guard for the same hours of cover. Monitoring can also be layered with an existing security guarding contract for a combined approach.
Monitoring is carried out under UK GDPR and ICO registration requirements, and in line with the Surveillance Camera Code of Practice. Contact the Birmingham team to confirm the specific registration details for a contract.
